Seasonal Trends in Article Marketing and Website Content
By admin | April 16th, 2010 | Category: Making Money Online, Marketing, The Internet | No Comments »HI Guys!! I’ve been thinking about all the marketing hype out there lately.. and few tips that you may not have considered.. we hear a lot about marketing, how to do it, why to do it, the right techniques to use, but we don’t hear often enough about WHEN to do it. It makes sense that seasonal marketing trends should be part of what we learn in marketing but very often, we don’t hear about it.
Now of course, as you know I write for NAA so that gives me a vested interest in seeing you order, but I’m also offering you something too. I’ve been doing my own research. I’ve spent ten years online, watching the rise and fall of websites and articles. I’ve been writing those items for more than six years on my own.
Here’s what I know.
As we watch our articles rise and fall in Google and the amount of time that they take to rank, it’s a good lesson. Because I have my own websites, as well as writing for yours, I add a few keywords to those which many of you give me in order to assure that they rise well to the top in Google.
I like to pay attention to the items that I write for myself as well as my clients, and to that end I Copyscape them, find out where they are in Google and watch their progress as they go up or down.
The results have been really interesting. I thought it might interest you too because it takes some time to play out that a lot of us don’t really consider.
On day one of submission they lay at the second page of returns, on the second day, they rose to the top of the second page. Day three usually sees some fluctuation, such as climbing to page one in the returns, settling toward the bottom.
For the fluctuations to stop and the items to settle in page one of Google returns, takes an average of a 4 -7 days to complete.
What that means to us is that the articles that you order today don’t rise to the Google or Bing for about two weeks.
The items that you put in today don’t rise to where they need to be sometimes for a week or more. If you want to get your site noticed, then you have to think and to plan ahead for website content and that means ordering well before the time you’d like to see them noticed.
We all know that the internet is a seasonal place. Not only does it have marketing trends and other kinds of trending, but it has definite seasonal trends. You can, simply by virtue of some good old fashioned common sense, anticipate the things that are going to be in the top echelons of the searches.
Think about your own life and what you consider in a seasonal way….in March, you’re tired or cold and snow–your mind turns to the outdoors, to gardening and to other pursuits, so you begin to seek out gardening sites, to look for outdoor grills, gardening items that you might use to decorate your outdoor space. March and April are really prime time to be planning those things.
July rolls around and you’re anticipating the back to school rush. You’re buying things for the college kids, new shoes, school clothing and a bit of everything else that will help them.
Winterizing and home improvement is generally done in the early fall. In preparation for that your articles need to come out in the middle of summer.
In September and October, those who do any kind of crafting, and even those who don’t are thinking the holidays. For some reason the beginning of the school year prompts us to think about Christmas.
For the site owners who really need articles to push their traffic or their affiliate products, you need to get those out at least 2 weeks ahead of time. That doesn’t mean to order them two weeks ahead it means to order them about a month ahead and then to have them in hand in order to time your release just a day or two before the others who are in all probability attempting, as you are, to anticipate the season.
Give yourself every chance to succeed by releasing your articles ahead of time. Let your items for gardening hit the internet in about mid February, while those for summertime barbecue grills should be March and April releases. Autumn and winterization items should hit about mid July to the first part of August, while Christmas items should go out at the very least in the latter part of September.
Plan ahead for your article releases.
Make sure that you have them well in hand before the time when you should be releasing. Those November articles for Christmas are going to leave you well behind, with someone else making the money that you could have made from the holiday or other season.
