Defcon in Las Vegas this weekend kicked…  Capture the flag was interesting,  the vendors were great, if a bit over priced, but what the heck.. it was Vegas.. As far as I was concerned, the really kick @ss things were taking place upstairs. The hardware hacking and lock picking that was going on in the galleries was fun and a unique way to spend a few minutes.

Defcon, in my humble opinion, has it all over Black Hat. You can learn the same things, meet most of the same people, find out a touch more information and pay about a tenth what Black Hat cost you. The free tees at Black Hat are nearly worth the price, granted, but I’ll pass on the teeshirts and take my free stickers and do the Defcon every time, given the choice.

Tossing out a thanks to the Nurse.. It was nice to visit with you, and I appreciate meeting one of the few people my age who don’t’ think Fortran  or Cobol is some kind of STD.
