How utterly annoying is it when something works one minute and the next minute it just won’t.
I’ve run into this time and time again, and my best advice to anyone, novice or experienced user is to back up before you change up. That includes even altering the most unlikely thing, because it can, and will cause problems.
My most recent experience was with Twitter Tweet Deck, which played a few games with my windows Xp SP3 machine that shouldn’t have happened. I can’t explain why they did happen, but they happened to more than just my computer, but a few friends of mine as well, so suffice it to say, that it may be the best thing since pockets for you, but to my own little temperamental male machine, it was the tweet deck that created the train wreck.
Within one click of installing Twitters cute little gadget, my drag and drop functionality stopped working.. I could click like hell and pull til the cows came home, but all that happened was that I opened a wide and diverse amount of files on my desktop and they dragged no where in a short time. MY drag and drop was broken.
Since I use drag and drop a lot, I was not only mystified but necessarily irritated..
Fortunately, since I wasn’t the first person I knew of who had suffered the indignity of no drag and drop in windows xp, I had to surmise that the Tweet deck had done it and I knew at least how to UNdo it..
There is a great little patch out there for your registry that is written by a super group of folks who offer it to you for free.

Please remember that although these files are safe and did work for me, that doesn’t mean they are going to fix your issues, although we hope they do. BACK UP THE REGISTRY BEFORE YOU USE THEM!!!!
One more time for the sake of your own sanity, before you change it, back it up.!!
