Okay so you’ve clicked on something that swapped out the default search engine in Firefox. How annoying IS it when small things change on your just gotten it perfect browser. It’s even more annoying when some company or web site does it without so much as a by your leave, leaving you to try to figure out how to fix it. You can change the default search engine in Firefox back to what it was quite easily , although it’s a hidden facet of the brower.
Change your default search engine in FIrefox to something you want to be there instead of saying naughty words about it each time you hit that search and get one over on the companies making money from setting it to something else.
Change the default search engine in Firefox back to what it was by a couple simple steps, so that it doesn’t keep annoying you to death. It’s a matter of just about four steps.
In the Firefox URL window, that is to say the small line that says http://etc etc..
Into that URL window, type in the words
about:config
A window will pop up that tells you that you could void your warranty (not that you care because chances are you’re never going to USE the Firefox warranty anyway and you can always reinstall it)
Click on the words I’ll be careful I promise
Scroll down through all that accompanying gook til you find the words, Keyword.URL
Once you do find Keyword.url, highlight it and right click.
You can select modify string or enter new string, and into that
paste the following, if you want Google to be the default search engine for Firefox
Http://www.google.com
If you want MSN to be the default search engine in Firefox, type in
http://www.live.com/?scope=web&mkt=en-US
Save your work and get out of it.
Bingo.
You just defeated the evil entity who changed your default Firefox search engine.
Granted, multiple web entities will attempt to change your browser date for their own nefarious means, but you have the ability to fix it. Doesn’t it feel good to beat the big boys? You can, even with limited computer experience, change the default search engine in Firefox right back to what it was in no time flat.

Ok so your Google one will not work. To change it back to Google, just right click on the keyword.url and click “Reset”. And, assuming that Google was the search engine you started off with, it will go back to Google.
Hope this helps!
