Quite frankly, it never made much sense to me to add something like, How to Set Up Your Computer, on a web page, since its fairly obvious that if you’re reading the page your computer is pretty much set up already or you wouldn’t be here.
Common sense pretty much tells you what goes where when you try to connect your computer. Its rather like trying to insert square pegs into round holes, because most things are made for just one insertion point, or only fit in one connection.
There are exceptions of course, such as the speakers or the microphone, but for the most part, if its viewing this page, you’ve got it set up correctly.
We’ll get to the “no sound” or “no voice” aspects of things later.
Since everyone seems to think that the “REAL” basics include setting it up then we’ll add that just so we aren’t a step behind those other sites who teach you how.
Using a power strip , or an APC, or whatever you like thats going to prevent a power surge, plug it into the wall.
Connect the monitor to the PC
Plug in the mouse to the PC
Plug in the keyboard to the PC
Connect the cable or modem if you’re not using a wireless internet adapter.
plug it all into the power supply
Press the Power button.
IMPORTANT NOTE!!
If you see sparks.. its probably wrong.
